Friedrich Fuß has been the Chief Digital Officer (CDO) of the City of Bonn since January 2018. He is an advisor to the administration, bundles and networks the players and activities in the field of digital administration and Smart City.
Friedrich Fuß has several teaching assignments at the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences and the University of Applied Sciences for Telecommunications in Leipzig. In 2012, he founded the company NGVersity UG. From May 2009 to October 2011, Friedrich Fuß was responsible for Deutsche Telekom's Technical Service as Managing Director. As Chairman of the Management Board of Deutsche Telekom Technischer Service GmbH, he was responsible for more than 21,000 employees nationwide in Europe's largest service organization. Prior to this, Fuß spent two and a half years as Divisional Board Member and Managing Director of Deutsche Telekom Netzproduktion GmbH, where he was responsible for the entire fixed network infrastructure of Deutsche Telekom AG's T-Home division and for the business results of the Technology division.
Friedrich Fuß, born in 1957, studied communications engineering at the University of the German Armed Forces in Hamburg. He was an officer in the German Armed Forces until 1988. Fuß began his professional career at Deutsche Telekom in 1988 and took on various management positions in regional and central organizational units. Under his leadership, the reorganization of the technology areas with around 50,000 employees into two organizationally independent units "Technology" and "Technical Service" was implemented in 2003.
