Children are registered for childcare in a daycare center via the parent portal KITA-NET Bonn. This registration portal has now been expanded so that from September 2021, registration for a childcare place in a daycare center will also take place via this portal.
This was made possible because the Kita Planner administration program was expanded to include an additional module for the "child day care" form of care. The child and legal guardian data entered in the parents' portal is automatically transferred to the administration program together with the childcare preferences. If the child wishes to be cared for in a day care facility, the child day care network's specialist advisory service receives a notification of this and supports the parents in their search for a suitable day care facility.
The advantage of using the administration program exclusively is that the data of all children in care is stored centrally in a data system. On the one hand, this facilitates statistical evaluation and, on the other hand, the child data is already available when the transition from child day care to day care is made, simplifying the registration process.
This form of electronic notification of need is based on § 5 of the NRW Child Education Act. The registration process and the allocation of childcare places is coordinated with all participating providers, facilities and Netzwerk Kindertagespflege.
Approx. 1,200 children are currently being looked after by 313 childminders.
Currently, parents applying for a daycare place for their child are only offered a choice via the childcare network.
In a further expansion stage, it is planned that self-employed day carers and large day care centers will be presented in the Kita-NET Bonn parents' portal on a voluntary basis in order to enable direct contact between parents and day care centers.
