From today, Bonn residents can report overfilled and defective waste bins even more easily. To this end, bonnorange AöR is using new signs on waste bins.

From today, around 2,500 waste bins will be fitted with a scratch and weatherproof sticker. Printed on the sticker is the Internet address of the City of Bonn's defect reporting system and a QR code that can be scanned with a smartphone to enter the request on the portal. In addition, each waste bin is given a unique location ID so that each reported defect can be easily identified and located.

For bonnorange AöR, the City of Bonn's defect reporter was already an important digital tool for responding to citizens' concerns in the past. Now the reports are received directly by the bonnorange AöR scheduling department or by the team responsible for the waste bins in the district. This means that the emptying is incorporated into the ongoing waste bin tour so that the defect is rectified as quickly as possible.

On Friday, October 4, 2019, the first litter bin was placed on the market square. This model also has the special feature of having an additional orange band around the lid. This makes the waste bins more eye-catching and the new digital function can be used more effectively.

The drivers on the waste bin tour are equipped with tablets that are connected to the internet via LTE. This means that the employees can also view the reports from citizens on the road and, if necessary, view the waste bin in advance if the reporting citizen has uploaded a photo. The City of Bonn and bonnorange AöR will continue to work closely together in order to meet the concerns of Bonn residents in the City of Bonn's defect reporting system, which can be accessed at  https://anliegen.bonn.de (opens in a new tab). In this way, the benefits of advancing digitalization will contribute to a cleaner Bonn.
