The geo-business sector is a cross-sectional industry and deals with "where-data". Both the economy and society benefit from its results - whether in smartphones or as a core element of mobility, logistics, traffic, environmental or urban planning. The geoinformation industry thus strengthens Bonn as a leading business location. As part of the city of Bonn's smart city strategy process, players in the geospatial industry are important players and innovators in the digitalization of the city.

The "geobusiness region bonn (gbr)" is run by the Bonn Economic Development Agency in cooperation with the Bonn/Rhine-Sieg Chamber of Industry and Commerce.
