Stadtwerke has set up the necessary infrastructure for this and operates twelve gateways on buildings such as the SWB heating power plant north and the City Hall. These gateways receive data that is provided via an "Internet of Things" platform from Zenner. The data that is processed comes from areas such as climate, environment and mobility.
CO2 sensors for pandemic-compliant ventilation concepts
SWB is currently using the established infrastructure itself in a pilot project: CO2 sensors are being used in SWB rooms as digital support for regular ventilation. The sensors make the air exchange perceptible and measurable and can trigger alarms to open the windows. The aim of the project is to reduce the likelihood of COVID-19 being transmitted indoors. "LoRaWAN is a business area in which we see a lot of innovation potential and can work economically," says SWB project coordinator Christian Roosen.
