Bonn City Library has successfully upgraded its software. Users now benefit from an optimized online catalog and, for the first time, their own library app.
As part of the changeover, extensive data was migrated and all employees were trained. The new software enables more intuitive use and more digital services.
A new feature is the "B24" app, which provides mobile access to the online catalog (WebOPAC) and the personal account. Both platforms offer modern functions, including
- thematic media recommendations
- Reservations for available titles
- user-friendly search functions
- multilingual interface
- Lending history
- Barrier-free use with EyeAble assistant
- Instructions in sign language and easy language
In future, it will also be possible to submit purchase suggestions directly in WebOPAC and make it easier to register new customers online. An e-payment function is also planned.
