The city of Bonn has been involved in the NRW volunteer card project from the very beginning. There are currently 50 benefits available to holders of the card in Bonn.

The NRW Volunteer Card is an expression of appreciation for the great voluntary commitment of citizens and combines this appreciation with a practical benefit: People who are particularly committed to the common good can use the card to take advantage of a constantly growing number of offers from public, non-profit and private institutions at a reduced rate throughout the state. The city of Bonn has been involved in the NRW Volunteer Card project from the very beginning.

A volunteer card can be obtained by anyone who has been volunteering in Bonn for at least two years, for a minimum of five hours per week or 250 hours per year, without remuneration. The organization or institution where the volunteer work is carried out must confirm the details.

For some months now, in addition to the previous procedure, volunteers in Bonn have had a simple and paperless way to apply for and receive the NRW volunteer card, namely with the "Ehrenamtskarte NRW" app. All benefits in NRW can be viewed or filtered there. There are currently 50 benefits available in Bonn. In addition, the app can find nearby offers by localizing the location and show the right route via navigation.
The app can be used on smartphones and tablets and has been developed for iOS and Android. The app can be downloaded free of charge from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
Of course, it is still possible to receive the analog card by post or at a reception in early December. If you would like the NRW Volunteer Card to be presented at the reception, the department requests that the online form be submitted by mid-September 2023 at the latest for organizational reasons.
