New website smartcity.bonn.de

New website smartcity.bonn.de is online.

Published on July 10, 2020

A new website has now gone online  at https://smartcity.bonn.de (opens in a new tab), which provides an overview of our Smart City strategy, the future focus projects, the measures already implemented and our digital offerings and partners.

Which institutions are we working with in Bonn and the region to successfully implement our strategy and how is the Smart City strategy structured with the roles and tasks in Bonn? The new website also provides information on this.

An overview of all the city's digital projects is currently being compiled under Digital offerings and the measures implemented in the two areas of digital administration and digital city. The Events Calendar with digital information and educational offers in Bonn is also still under construction. The page on focus projects provides an overview of future key topics in the specialist departments.

Open government as an integral part of the smart city

Did you know that we were one of the first three German municipalities to make data from the city administration and other Bonn institutions available for free use as open data back in 2014? The data of the city administration and other Bonn institutions in the Bonn Open Data Catalog can be freely and openly reused and processed by private individuals, companies and institutions.

In Bonn, citizen participation is carried out on the basis of the Citizen Participation Guidelines. These are self-imposed rules to enable better participation for Bonn residents in local political decisions and projects of the city. On the new page, you will find background information on this and the digital offer www.bonn-macht-mit.de. We also take a look at digital volunteering and the services available in Bonn. All of these fields of action are an important part of our Smart City approach.
