  • Open data guideline development

2014

  • Basic political decision of the city council on open data on January 30, 2014
  • Launch of an open data monitoring platform as the first municipality in Europe on May 4, 2014
  • Launch of the open data catalog (development of the data portal in municipal cooperation by the City of Cologne) on 28 May 2014

2015/2016

  • Political decision to abolish open data licensing. Bonn is the first municipality in Germany to introduce Creative Commons Zero (public domain)
  • Participation of the City of Bonn in shaping the Open Government Pact of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia/Municipalities of North Rhine-Westphalia

2016

  • First basic political decision in Germany at municipal level on Open Transport Data

2017

  • Relaunch of the OGD Cockpit data monitoring system
  • OpenBudgets.EU The city of Bonn is a Trial Practice Partner
  • Start of participation as one of nine municipalities in the report project "Model Municipality Open Government" of the Federal Ministry of the Interior
  • Launch of the "Urban Data Space" study by the Fraunhofer Institute IAIS in cooperation with Fraunhofer FOKUS and Fraunhofer IML. The City of Bonn was a project partner

2018
