The geobusiness region bonn stimulates internal and external communication and works on a joint external impact of the participants. The network of the geoinformation initiative of the Bonn, Rhine-Sieg region, which is made up of business, administration, science and research institutions, has been in existence since 2004. Its aim is to position the geo sector as an important leading sector of the IT industry in the Bonn region and beyond and to stimulate innovation. The City of Bonn's Economic Development Agency and the Bonn/Rhine-Sieg Chamber of Industry and Commerce promote the industry with numerous measures and activities.

With the mentoring program, the network aims to bring founders and young entrepreneurs together with experienced entrepreneurs and thus promote their progress. With events such as the annual GeoDIALOG and various projects, the geobusiness region bonn strengthens and transports the potent community. As a cross-sectoral industry, the geo-business sector has a wide range of potential that can be used for the Smart City Bonn process.

In addition to the services offered by the network, the Bonn Economic Development team advises, supports and assists companies and start-ups in the areas of innovation, digitalization, start-ups and location selection.

The Bonn-Rhein-Sieg Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK Bonn-Rhein-Sieg) also offers corresponding services as a cooperation partner of the network.
