The Ludwig van Beethoven Music School in Bonn has been playing and singing, teaching and rehearsing, composing and giving concerts for over 50 years. Although these activities take place in person and in analog form, digital achievements are playing an increasingly important role in everyday music school life. Mobile devices enable teachers to integrate selected apps into their lessons in a meaningful way. Apps and Bluetooth boxes connected to the end devices allow pupils to practise with accompaniment even when there is no pianist available. Digital flip charts create new possibilities for group lessons in elementary music education - from the creation of graphics to the integration of children who have to stay at home for health reasons.
The music school app simplifies the organization of school operations for the administration, teachers and, in future, also for the pupils. In addition to these projects that are already being implemented, there will be others - with a focus on digitally supported music and video production. The digitization was made possible by the Cultural Office of the City of Bonn and the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia.
