Code Week was launched in 2013 as a European grassroots initiative. It invites children and young people to discover their enthusiasm for tinkering, hacking and programming. Every year in the fall, the Europe-wide action weeks offer the chance to take a look behind the scenes of the digital world: In exciting workshops and hands-on activities, children and young people (as well as adults) can try their hand at using hardware and software in a playful way and discover how much fun, creativity and teamwork there is in programming.

Whether school, university, company, non-profit initiative or committed individual - everyone can contribute something to Code Week. The annually growing program of workshops and hands-on activities is supported by many committed people from coding and maker initiatives, schools, universities and companies.

Code Week Bonn-Rhein-Sieg is one of a total of nine Regio-Hubs in Germany. The Regio Hubs bring together committed people and organizations - including educational initiatives, foundations, universities, libraries, companies and business development agencies - who want to get young people interested in coding and tinkering locally.
